What Makes Our Group Training Program Different?
A few days ago, I wrote about what makes our Semi-Private Personal Training program different and why it's such a great option for people who want a completely individualized fitness program.
Today, I want to talk about our Group Training Program because it's one of the biggest misconceptions people have when they first visit CT Workout.
Many people hear the words group fitness and immediately picture 20 people doing the exact same workout, trying to keep up with the instructor while hoping they don't fall behind.
That's not how we do things.
Before I explain why, I want to mention something many people don't realize...
Every Semi-Private Personal Training membership at CT Workout also includes unlimited Group Training sessions.
That means our personal training members can enjoy the benefits of both programs, giving them even more opportunities to stay active and consistent throughout the week.
So, what's the difference?
Semi-Private Personal Training vs. Group Training
The biggest difference comes down to individualization.
In our Semi-Private Personal Training program, every member follows a workout program written specifically for them.
Your program is based on:
- Your goals
- Your current fitness level
- Your movement assessment
- Previous injuries
- Mobility limitations
- Medical considerations
- Your progress over time
As you get stronger, your program evolves.
No two members are following the exact same plan.
Our Group Training Program is different.
Instead of individualized programming, everyone follows the same workout format for the day.
But—and this is the important part—that doesn't mean everyone is doing the exact same exercise.
One Workout... Many Different Versions
This is where our coaching makes all the difference.
At the beginning of every group training session, everyone completes a dynamic warm-up together.
Then your coach explains the workout for the day.
Rather than simply saying, "Go do 15 squats," we teach every movement before the workout begins.
We explain:
- Proper technique
- Common mistakes
- Safety tips
- How the movement should feel
Most importantly...
We demonstrate multiple versions of each exercise so every member can choose the variation that's right for them.
One Exercise Doesn't Fit Everybody
Let's use a squat as an example.
Four people might all be standing at the same station.
To someone watching, it looks like they're all doing squats.
But here's what's actually happening:
One member may be performing a bodyweight squat while learning proper movement.
Another may be using a light dumbbell in a goblet squat.
Another may be using a heavier kettlebell.
Someone with more experience may be performing a double kettlebell front squat.
They're all practicing the same movement pattern...
But at the level that's appropriate for their body.
That's what makes our group training different.
Nobody is expected to keep up with the strongest person in the room.
Coaching Every Step of the Way
Our coaches don't stand at the front of the room counting repetitions.
They're constantly moving throughout the workout.
They're watching technique.
Providing encouragement.
Correcting form.
Helping members choose the right weight.
Offering easier options when needed.
And more challenging options when appropriate.
Whether you've been exercising for twenty years or you're walking into a gym for the first time, you'll receive coaching throughout your workout.
Designed for Adults Over 40
Our group training program wasn't designed for elite athletes.
It was designed for busy adults who want to:
- Lose body fat
- Build lean muscle
- Improve strength
- Increase energy
- Move better
- Feel better
- Improve their overall health
Every workout is carefully planned to challenge you without overwhelming you.
It's not about leaving the gym exhausted.
It's about leaving stronger than when you walked in.
