12 Tips To Lose Weight and Tone Up

1. Don’t skip breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It gets your metabolism jump started early, alos people who eat breakfast typically eat less throughout the day.

2. Drink water
Stay hydrated. Almost all metabolic activities in your body require water. Replace soda and juices with water and avoid all of the extra sugar and calories.

3. Write down your goals
Use it for motivational purposes. Writing down your goals and keeping the posted somewhere you will see them every day.  This will keep you focused on your goals.

4. Create a plan and stick to it.
Create a plan and stick to it. Look at the big picture don’t just plan for the day or the week. Set a goal, like a target weight or a smaller dress size. Now give yourself a deadline to achieve the goals. Giving yourself a goal and a deadline will help motivate you. Now that you have a goal, develop a progressive exercise program and meal plan to help you achieve that goal.

5. Keep a food log
Writing down everything you eat keeps you from cheating. Imaging having to write down the 4 slices of pizza, 8 chicken wings, and 6 beers that you ate while watching the football game last Sunday.

That will be pretty painful when you are adding up all the calories you just consumed and it added up to almost 2,000 calories. That equals about 20hrs on the treadmill. Ouch! Do I need to say more!

6. Eat small, more frequent meals
Studies have shown that eating small, more frequent meals every 2-3 hours will increase your body’s metabolism.

7. Change your routine
Have you hit a plateau? That’s because the body’s ability to adapt to whatever stress you place on it. To get the best results it is important to switch up your routine every 3-4 weeks.

Here are some suggestions; change the exercise, order of exercise, number of sets and reps, rest between exercises. For a challenging workout try adding interval training into your routine.

8. Get more sleep
Rest is just as important as exercise. Getting good nights sleep is important for your body’s ability to recover. Also a recent study showed that people who get less sleep tend to carry more weight than those who get more sleep.

9. Get a fitness assessment
How will you know how much progress you have made if you don’t know where you started? Fitness assessments are one of personal trainer’s secrets for getting their clients motivated and getting them results.

10. Stop making excuses
Start taking some action! Stop skipping workout and cheating on your diet.
