Ever feel like there is just not enough time during the day?
I’m going to share a couple of secrets that have helped our personal training clients and boot camp members free up their time and allowed them to spend more time doing the things they enjoy, while still getting the type of weight loss results that they deserve.
By now I’m sure you are well aware that you in order to maximize your metabolism and speed up your weight loss, you need to eat 5-6 small meals per day and find at least 30 minutes to get in a quick workout. The problem is that between work, taking care of the kids, and all your other responsibilities, who has the time to cook 5-6 meals everyday and work out on top of that?
There is just not enough time.
The real key to your health and fitness success is time management and planning out your schedule ahead of time and stick to it.
Here are two tips to help you get started:
1) Plan out your workout schedule ahead of time
The first thing is to do is look at your weekly calendar and block off a set time everyday for your workouts. Then you can plan out the rest of your day around that, but the important thing is to make yourself a priority. I know that may sound pretty selfish, but it is important that you take time for yourself.
This is your personal time to improve upon yourself. During this time you’ll be able to reduce your every day stress and eliminate the mental road blocks that are preventing you from looking and feeling better.
The key is to make this time about you. This means no distractions, turn your cell phone off that way you can focus on yourself, no phone calls, text, or emails to get you side tract.
2) Plan and prepare your meals ahead of time
The next step is to prepare your meals ahead of time. This has been the secret to success for many of our personal training clients and boot camp members. Who has time to stop everything your doing and cook 5-6 small meals per day? That’s why we recommend preparing your foods ahead of time and packing a cooler for the day.
Here is your formula for success:
Schedule time and make every Sunday and Wednesday your big food prep nights. During this time you will plan out your meals, grocery shop, and prepare all of your meals ahead of time and put them in Tupperware containers to take with you.
On Sunday evenings, go grocery shopping and prepare meals for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays.
On Wednesday evenings, go grocery shopping and prepare meals for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Here are 5 simple steps to preparing your meals ahead:
It’s that simple
I usually eat breakfast at home in the morning, but I like to chop up my fruits and vegetables ahead of time so all I need to do is throw them in a pan with egg whites for my morning omelets and I can have fresh fruit already cut up as a side.
Then I just put the rest of my meals in my cooler and my meals are all set for the day. Now all I have to do is heat them up and I’m good to go. No more worrying about taking time out of my busy days to prepare my meals everything is already done and I can focus my time on other things.
Here are some additional benefits of preparing your meals ahead of time:
Now that you have pre-scheduled time for your workouts and planed out and prepared your healthy meals ahead of time, losing weight and getting in shape becomes easy!
